SpeakQ writing software is designed for learning disabled writers. No need to type, a writer can speak aloud and this writing software will recognize the spoken words and input the words for him or her. Also, the text can be read back to the writer, which may help him or her to quickly recognize awkward phrasing or errors in logic.

If the writer has spelled something incorrectly, this writing software will automatically correct the word spelling. There are also grammar checks that will explain errors to the writer, but this writing software then goes a step further to suggest better words or phrases. For example, if the writer has a phrase like “most funniest,” this writing software will indicate that this phrase is a double superlative and will suggest that the writer remove the word “most.”

This writing software is easy to use with any Windows program, and a wide variety of technical support for the learning disabled is available. The writer may contact someone for help via telephone, email or online. Additionally, the user manual has a step-by-step guide on how to run this writing software. The terms in the manual are very simple and basic, not loaded with confusing technical language and an extended glossary.

Unlike other leading writing software, SpeakQ does not help writers to identify wordy phrases, such as using “for the purpose of” instead of simply using “for.” Additionally, this writing software does not acknowledge instances of passive voice, such as when a phrase explains who the action is affecting, rather than using the verb to explain who is executing the action.

A learning disabled writer who needs help understanding and correcting spelling and grammar will find Speak Q writing software useful, but those writers looking for help writing with concision and in active voice should look for another product.

Writing Software: MyNovel

MyNovel is a ghostwriting software for writers needing help with every step in the process of writing a novel. Inspirational comments are provided for the writers trying to find a topic, as well as for each new chapter, character, setting, and subplot.

Writer Software:

Character Development
Writers can build a “spider-diagram,” which is essentially an extended family tree, of the relationships between the characters. Writers can also navigate between research found on websites or notes in other files on their computer about the characters. Also included in this ghostwriting software is a list of questions that help the writers to define and create three-dimensional and realistic characters.

Plot Development
This ghostwriting software has a “spider-diagram” for plotting out each of the specific events in the novel, so that the writers can have a visual representation of the story’s natural progression.
Setting

Notes on locations for the events are amassed in one location in this ghostwriting software. Also, any information pertinent to developing the setting, which is contained in links to websites or in other files, can be quickly accessed.

While this ghostwriting software is only compatible for those writers who have the Windows Vista, a demo of Vista can be downloaded on the MyNovel website. Also, any notes or writing in the program can be easily transported to a Microsoft Word program.

Furthermore, this writing software has advanced printing capabilities, allowing writers to print only sections or the entire novel in the format suitable for literary agents or publishers.

Writers needing inspiration to begin a novel, or needing help with organizing ideas about character, plot and setting should look to the MyNovel ghostwriting software. However, those writers looking for an in depth instructive program should continue searching, as this writing software does not present advice on how to progress as an author.

Freelance Writer Tips to Increase Productivity

1. Make Lists – This is a must! – As a freelance writer you have deadlines and projects. Make a “to do” list. I make a list for the week and for each day. I review my week list and make adjustments to my daily list as needed every morning. I have a motivation or reward at the bottom of each list. My rewards are usually something like two hours off, a massage, or a caramel latte! Another list I keep is a contacts list. My contact lists is a notebook with everyone’s name and contact information. If the power goes out for any reason, I can still communicate if needed and let people know I am not working.

2. Set Goals – Whether your goal is monetary, amount of words you will write, or the time you will work, set quantifiable goals that you can hold yourself accountable to. Make your goals realistic and meet them. Adjust your goals each week as needed.

3. Find Your Prime Time: – Schedule your work time in your prime time when you are most energetic. I am energetic and focused in the morning so I start writing at 6:00 AM and have a good deal of work completed by 9AM when most people are starting. Makes me feel like I am ahead all day instead if trying to catch up.

4. Schedule Interruptions – Turn off your phone, IM, and email while you work. Set aside a time to read and respond to email and phone messages each day. Writers must have blocks of uninterrupted time. As a writer – you only make money when you are writing!

5. Change Your Home Page – This one act did more to increase my work time, focus, and paycheck more than all the other time savers combined! For years every time I opened the web to research the first page I saw was Yahoo. Soon I was reading a news story or email and had forgotten what I was going to research. When I changed my home page to one without news feeds or email notifications, my productivity skyrocketed. (Now I set aside time to read news each day and schedule my email communications.)

6. Get Up and Move Around – Exercise stimulates your brain and you will write better. Break up your writing sessions with a brisk walk; tread mill, or stationary bike and stretching.

7. Manage Your Environment – You will not manage your life, work, or much of anything very good if you do not keep your work area clean and organized.

8.	Be Consistent – you have the flexibility to work when you want at home yet being consistent each week will help you establish a routine and perform better.

9. Start a Countdown – When you are dreading working or writing or you are putting off a task set up a time as soon as possible when you will start. Countdown the hours and minutes and treat the task or writing as a rocket launch. (Years of preparation and millions of dollars go into a rocket launch and barring any emergency the lift off cannot be put off!)

10. Seek Support – As a freelance writer working with TeacherWriters you are not alone. When you need help contact friends, associates, or TeacherWriters. We are here to help you.

The Freelance Writer Home Office

When converting a room into a home office for work as a freelance writer or ghostwriter, first consider how to maximize the efficiency of the space. You need to be able to move around comfortably, yet still have access to essential tools in the home office. Concerns about comfort or the accessibility of materials should not enter a ghostwriters’ mind, so that all energy can be spent on creative thinking and writing.

With that in mind, here’s a list of the top considerations for creating a great home office:

Solitude and Noise
Writers must consider how quiet the space is so that unexpected noises don’t break their concentration. If possible have a dedicated room for your office. This way you can shut the door while you are working to avoid interruptions and disturbances, and keep your room organized by prohibiting others for using your desk or computer. Finding out your son or daughter downloaded a new game that has contained a virus or crashed your computer, can put you out of business. Do not position your home office by a window near a noisy street or next to a child’s playroom.

Lighting
While the idea of writing by candlelight might sound romantic, writers should utilize proper lighting equipment such as a desk lamp or overhead lights to protect their eyes from strain. Natural lighting (sunlight) can also be used to light the home office during daylight hours.

Furniture
The type of desk the writer uses is his or her personal preference, but the desk should be large enough to accommodate a computer and any notes the writer is using. The chair for a home office should be durable and have wheels for easy mobility, and should only be moderately comfortable. A writer that is overly relaxed in his chair might fall asleep, but an uncomfortable chair is not exactly conducive to inspiration, either. Get a chair with arms so that you can rest your elbows while typing or using a mouse to reduce the chances of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Tools of the Trade
Essential items writers need in their home office include:

•	a computer
•	a sketch pad
•	writing utensil
•	Internet access
•	Word processing software

Other helpful elements in a home office might include a dry erase board for notes and sketches and a bulletin board for tacking up newspaper clippings or other important papers. Writers might also consider purchasing a file cabinet as a storage unit for research or past writings clips.

When designing a home office, the primary goal is to find the most efficient space that will be best suited for long periods of writing, not the most comfortable spot in the home.

Buy the best Internet access you can afford. You will be performing research and uploading and downloading files and a dial up or slow connection can drive you mad enough to look for a real job!

Fear is the number one emotion people feel before a job interview. No matter how hard you might try, if you are feeling fear when you walk into an interview, most experienced interviewers will know it.

If you are like most people and feel nervous before an interview don’t be too hard on yourself. There are few worse feelings than being caught off guard by an interview question. If the question is about a time period of employment or other statement from your resume and you are unsure of what you wrote, you might even appear dishonest. One mistake can shake your self confidence and blow an interview.

The number one way to build confidence for job interviews is to be prepared. Getting ready for an interview means different things to different people, but there are a number of proven methods to ensure you will be able to handle most of whatever is thrown your way.

Research the industry and when possible the company. What are the key drivers in the market for this firm? Who are the main clients and what drives purchasing? Be able to talk coherently about the core products made or sold by the firm. Understand how the company makes money, and what your role in the overall structure will be.

Research and know the types of interview questions. Discover how to recognize the different types of interview questions and learn how to answer them. Make a list and rehearse possible answers. Prepare your main short stories for the behavioral based questions and rehearse your personal statements. Work with a friend or coach to get used to the flow and pace of a questioning session. Keep all of your answers to three sentences or less. Rehearse in a mirror while wearing your interview attire. Can you maintain good eye contact? What is your body language saying? Are there any distracting movements you need to control?

Know your personal motivation for the job. Ask yourself why you would want to work for the employer or company. This will help you develop your list of questions to ask at the interview.

Get a solid night of sleep before your interview. You need to look fresh and be alert enough to frame intelligent responses to your future employer’s job interview questions. A full night of sleep will help calm your nerves and keep your brain functioning at full speed.

SEO (Search Engine Optimized) articles can help market your website two important ways.

1. Adding fresh quality content to your website consistently (daily or weekly) is seen as favorable by search engines and improves page rank. Consistently adding fresh content to your site also gets visitors returning to your website. These articles should have the right volume of words, be keyword optimized, titled correctly, and linked correctly. Keywords must be placed correctly and used in the right density. All this must be done while creating human optimized content.

2. SEO articles placed on other websites with links back to your website will help your page rank with relevant inbound links and boost your traffic. Articles marketing strategy improves your Web site’s “relevance” and generate a higher ranking on search engine listings.

What does this mean to you?

TeacherWriters create unique keyword-rich content to ensure your site is easily indexed by search engines. This gets you traffic and appeals to visitors.
